Agriculture

Agriculture has a significant influence on the economy of Champaign County. As one of the state’s top counties for the output of both soybeans and corn, it’s no surprise that Champaign County is home to over 1,371 farms and over 567,679 acres of cropland. In addition to the revenue generated from the sale of these commodities, agricultural income dollars flow into the county’s economy through numerous ag-related businesses and industries including farm machinery sales and service, agricultural real estate, seed and crop production supply sales as well as grain processing plants.

Those who live, work or play in Champaign County don’t have to look far to see the benefits that agriculture brings to our community.
