Committees
Agribusiness Committee - The
Agribusiness Committee addresses agriculture-related issues, encourages good working relationships and understanding between rural and urban
constituents, and develops events that promote and encourage agricultural awareness. The committee meets monthly year-round except for December.
ATHENA™ Award Committee - This committee solicits nominations and selects the ATHENA™ Award recipient. Assists in
planning the Award Luncheon held in February. Committee meets fall and winter only.
Chamber Ambassador Program - Chamber ambassadors
serve as a vital communication link to cultivate members into being engaged in their association. The Ambassadors also help to
maintain positive relationships and to educate new and existing members on how the Chamber can help their company. Complete and submit an
Ambassador Commitment Form to participate.
Champaign County FIRST - The Champaign County FIRST Committee is the unified voice of
Champaign County to our elected officials on the state and federal level. Sponsored by the Champaign County
Chamber of Commerce and the Champaign County Economic Development Corporation, the membership is comprised of local elected officials and
business leaders from throughout the county. The committee makes annual trips to Washington, DC and our
state capitol in Springfield in early spring to advocate on behalf of all the communities of Champaign County
for agreed upon projects that will impact our county in a meaningful way.
Shoppers Expo Committee - Plans and coordinates all the activities involved in this
one-day business expo held in the spring. Committee meets winter through spring.
Golf Outing Committee -
Plans and conducts annual golf outing and picnic for Chamber members and their guests. Committee meets
January-June.
Government Council - Monitors and
works with the cities of Champaign, Urbana and Savoy as well as Champaign County Board, state of Illinois and the U.S. government on a variety
of community and business issues. Committee meets monthly year-round.
